6th February 2023

Dear parents and carers,

Mock Examinations Year 11
The Year 11 mock examinations are underway. These started on Monday 6th and conclude after half term on 24th February 2023. The exam timetable has been shared with students and is available on the school website HERE. If you have a child in Year 11, please ensure that revision is taking place. Mocks are an invaluable part of the exam experience. The feedback from teachers will provide insight into strengths and weaknesses and will support students in preparing for the summer examinations.

Academic Review Day
Please note that Friday 10th February is Academic Review Day. Full details have been sent to parents and carers and can be found on the school website HERE. The meetings are virtual via School Cloud and all students must attend their online meetings with parents. Only invited students will be in school on this day.

Children’s Mental Health Week
Children’s Mental Health Week starts Monday 6th February and the theme this year is “Let’s Connect”. Human beings thrive in communities, and this connection is vital for our wellbeing. When we have healthy connections – to family, friends and others – our mental health and our sense of wellbeing improve. For tips on how you can support your child, click HERE for a series of useful tips.
If your child is struggling with their mental health in any way, please do let us know so we can support in whatever way we are able.

Parent Survey – Reminder
I would like to remind you that this week we will be sending out a link to an online survey. Please take a few minutes to complete the form as your views and opinions are important to us and provide valuable feedback.

Mobile phones – Reminder
Students may not use mobile phones or any other portable electronic devices such as headphones or speakers for any purpose during the school day unless directed to do so by a member of staff according to our ICT Acceptable Use Policy. Students who choose to bring mobile phones to school must turn them off and stow them away in their bags until the end of the day. Only when they exiting the gates at the end of school may they retrieve their phones for use. This policy also applies to the Sixth Form. Students who are unable to follow the school policy will have their mobile devices confiscated. Items can be collected from reception on Fridays from 3pm by a parent or guardian.
