Headteacher's Letter 17.07.2026

Dear families,

As we approach the end of term and reflect on another busy and successful year at Stepney All Saints, I would like to take a moment to celebrate our shared achievements.

This has been a particularly memorable year for our school. We were delighted to receive an exceptional Ofsted report and an excellent SIAMS inspection, recognising the high-quality education, inclusive community and strong values that define Stepney All Saints.

Our students have achieved success both in and beyond the classroom, from strong examination results to creative, sporting and enrichment accomplishments. Highlights include international collaborations with schools in Denmark, The Gambia and Barbados, alongside excellent participation in our thriving enrichment programme.

Above all, our students continue to impress us with their kindness, respect and positive contributions. These achievements are made possible by the dedication of our staff, the support of our families and the hard work of our students. Thank you for your continued commitment to our school community.

School Leavers

As is always the case at this time of year, we say farewell to a number of valued colleagues who are moving on to new opportunities and new adventures. Although we are sorry to see them leave, we are immensely grateful for the commitment, professionalism and care they have shown during their time at Stepney All Saints.

On behalf of the entire Stepney All Saints community, I would like to thank each of them for the lasting impact they have made on our school. We wish them every happiness and success in the next chapter of their careers and lives.

End of Year Arrangements

As we approach the final days of term, I would like to share some important information regarding the arrangements for the end of the school year.

A number of events will be taking place which include the following:

• Year 7 Parents’ Evening – Thursday 16^th July (onsite)
• Sports day – Monday 20^th July (The day will finish at 12.30pm)
• Activities Day – Please refer to information sent by the head of year

In addition, our school year will end on Wednesday 22^nd July 2026. Students will follow their normal lessons for periods 1 and 2, and from 11.15am until 11.30am there will be a staggered dismissal.

Start of Academic Year Arrangements

The new academic year will begin on Thursday 3rd September 2026.

Students in Years 7 and 12 will attend an induction programme at the start of the day to help them settle into school, meet key staff and learn about important routines, safeguarding and expectations.

Students in Years 8, 9, 10 and 11 will arrive later in the morning before beginning the new school year with tutor activities and year group assemblies.

All students should attend in full school uniform.

The arrangements for Thursday 3rd September are as follows:

From Friday 4th September 2026, all year groups will attend school at the normal time and follow their full timetables.

Smartphone-Free School

You may be aware that we have recently consulted on our proposal to become a smartphone-free school from September 2026. Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to respond to the consultation.

The proposal aims to further strengthen students' focus on learning, reduce distractions and support the calm, purposeful environment we strive to provide for every member of our school community.

A separate letter will be sent to all families before the start of the new academic year confirming the outcome of the consultation and, outlining the new Mobile Phone Policy and the associated amendments to the Behaviour Policy.

School Uniform Policy

As we prepare for the new academic year, I am pleased to share a small update to our School Uniform Policy following feedback received through our Student Voice. From September, students will be permitted to wear one small plain stud in each pierced ear.

As we introduce this change, I would also like to remind families that nose studs, nose rings and all other facial piercings are not permitted. For health and safety reasons, all permitted jewellery must also be removed for PE lessons.

Summer Learning

The summer holiday is a well-deserved opportunity for our students to rest, recharge and enjoy time with family and friends after another busy and successful year. Alongside a well-earned break, I encourage all students to read for pleasure, make use of Century Tech to revisit key learning, and complete any summer work set by their teachers in preparation for September.

Maintaining these positive learning habits over the summer will help students return with confidence, ready to embrace the opportunities of the new academic year.
