Join us this summer for an engaging programme of hands-on workshops and immersive experiences, designed to inspire curious minds of all ages. Our sessions combine interactive science activities with our unique STEM Pod Experience, offering an unforgettable day of discovery.

Skin Deep & STEM Pod Experience - 22nd July, 10am | 24th July, 1pm | 28th July, 10am
Learn all about the largest organ – your skin!: Discover the incredible world of human skin in show Skin Deep. This interactive journey dives into the wonders of the largest organ in your body and its amazing functions. Get hands-on with fun activities exploring everything from popping pimples to the science of fingerprints in forensics.
For 7 – 11 Years, 3 hours + break
STEM Pod Experience - 29th July, 1pm | 27th August, 1pm
Are you ready to take on the role of a scientist?: Our unique STEM Pod experience uses innovative technology, video, interactive games, mesmerizing projection, and intriguing objects, suspended above the working laboratories of the Blizard Institute, Queen Mary University of London.
For ages 7+, 90 mins
Microbe Detectives & STEM Pod Experience - 3rd August, 10am | 5th August, 1pm
There’s a microbe on the loose, can you solve the mystery?: Learn how scientists and doctors work together to diagnose diseases in this hands-on workshop. Collect evidence from your experiments to find out which microbe could be causing the disease in our patient, and how we might treat it. Tickets to this workshop will also include a STEM Pod experience.

Brilliant Blood & STEM Pod Experience - 10th August, 10am | 12th August, 1pm | 14th August, 10am
Why is Blood Brilliant?: Join our hands-on workshop to discover why blood is truly brilliant!
Explore the science behind the red liquid that keeps us alive — what it is, how it works, and what happens when we start to lose it. Get involved with fun, interactive investigations and learn all about this incredible substance flowing through our veins. Tickets to this workshop will also include a STEM Pod experience.

CELLebration & STEM Pod Experience - 17th August, 1pm | 19th August, 10am | 21st August, 1pm
Think you’ve got what it takes to be a scientist?: Step into the past, present, and future of cell biology with us, and explore how science and lab work continue to evolve over time. Challenge yourself with some hands-on laboratory-themed tasks in our Neuron Pod and become a cell biologist like those working in the labs below your very feet. Tickets to this workshop will also include a STEM Pod experience.

Artificial Intelligence, but where is the intelligence? - 18th August, 1pm
Help us build a working brain to explore how AI works: Explore artificial intelligence, the field of science that tries to build ‘thinking machines’. How are they built? Are they really intelligent? What is intelligence anyway? We will also ask questions about a well-known ‘thinking machine’, you! Along the way we will play some games, including building a working brain to play Snap out of rope, tubes, and you.
For 7 – 11 Years, 2.5 hours + break
Medical Machine Magic - 20th August, 10am
Learn magic tricks to learn about medical device design: When you learn to be a magician, you learn other important skills too. In this workshop you will learn how to do real magic tricks and then we will use the tricks to teach you important lessons about how to make sure medical devices save lives.
For 7 – 11 Years, 2.5 hours + break
A Mummy for Melissa - 25th August, 10am
Meet Melissa, a newborn monster who is trying to find her mummy! Along the way she meets lots of new friends who teach her about the wonderful world of living things, cells and DNA! Created in partnership with East London Genes & Health, this is a child-friendly introduction to the concepts of cells and genetic inheritance.
For 4-7 year olds (Key Stage 1 / Early Years Foundation Stage), 1 hour
