The Year 12 LAMDA and Year 11 GCSE Drama students went to the Donmar Warehouse on Tuesday 14th March to see Trouble in Butetown. It is a fantastic show which explores the friendships and love in Tiger Bay during the war, at a time of segregation.

Gwyneth in her illegal boarding house in Butetown, Cardiff,  toils tirelessly to keep the house afloat. A home to souls from every corner of the globe. When Nate, an African American GI, escapes his barracks and discovers this new world without segregation, can he find safe harbour in Tiger Bay, and with danger on every corner, who can he trust?

Omar Year 11 said ‘ Miss, this is the best play we have ever seen. My favourite character was Norman. He is so funny and Jordi, the 10 year old girl daughter who always wants to be the centre of attention’

It was a fantastic story and a very enjoyable theatre trip. I expect some excellent theatre reviews.
